For the past year, if you wanted a good, affordable 4K TV your best bet has been to go with the Vizio P series. Though the company’s upgrading its cheaper M-series sets to 4K later this year, Hisense has beaten them to the punch today, announcing a 50-inch 4K TV.
The Hisense H7 Series 4K UltraHD Smart TV will hit store shelves at over 2,000 locations this June, with availability online at the same time. The set will be most affordable 4K TVs on the market.
Though there are some bargain-basement 4K options out there, the H7 will be one of the first “true” 4K TVs, offering compliance with both HDMI 2.0 and HDCP 2.2 standards. It’s also one of the first “Netflix Recommended” TVs, meaning it’s been tested by Netflix’s engineers, earning their stamp of approval for its built-in Netflix app.
