Hisense South Africa History

Hisense S.A. Development Enterprise (Pty) Ltd. entered the South African market in 1996 and is based in Midrand Johannesburg. Hisense S.A. has a National footprint with offices in 4 major centers, and distributes to more than 3,000 chain stores and over 500 Home Appliance franchise stores. In addition, its products are exported to more than 10 countries in the peripheral regions, including Namibia, Mozambique, Zimbabwe, Malawi, Zambia, Botswana and Lesotho.

The Hisense TV production base in Garankwa covers an area of more than 6,000 square meters and has a production capacity of 200,000 units per year. Our persistent effort over several years has helped grow Hisense S.A, LED TV market share to 23% and fridge market share up to 10% in 2011. Moreover, to compliment the current Hisense S.A range, new categories were launched during 2011 that include Air conditioners, kitchen appliances and floor care. With our eco-friendly and energy saving products, Hisense will carry on bringing its "live smart" products to the South African consumer.
